About this opportunity
The Wyoming Department of Administration and Information, Purchasing Section, is requesting bids on behalf of the Wyoming Department of Corrections for five-year fire sprinkler system and backflow preventer testing and repair services at the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp in Newcastle, with bids due August 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time and questions due August 5, 2026. A Wyoming resident preference under Wyoming Statute 9-2-3204(b)(iv)(G) applies; bidders must provide resident certification numbers by the bid due date.
The scope encompasses inspection and testing of fire sprinkler systems and backflow preventers across five facility areas (Dormitory A, B, C, D, and Programming) through June 30, 2028. Work includes hydrostatic pressure tests on fire department connections, internal inspections of dry-pipe and wet-pipe sprinkler systems, three-year air leak tests, installation of pressure gauges, and repair of failed backflow preventers. All work must comply with NFPA-25, IFC, and related fire safety codes. Bidders must possess all required certifications for fire sprinkler inspection and repair work, provide all necessary tools and equipment, furnish original or approved replacement parts with warranties, and supply updated operations and maintenance manuals for replaced components.
Bidders must submit two separate cost proposals: total cost for all inspections and a separate hourly rate for minor repairs. The contract period runs from final signature through June 30, 2028, with an option to extend for two additional years under mutually agreeable terms, not to exceed four years total. The Wyoming Department of Corrections reserves the right to make multiple or no awards and will notify the awarded bidder of contract renewal intent at least 60 days prior to the June 30, 2028 expiration date. Bidders are subject to background checks and must comply with Wyoming Department of Corrections policies including security, safety, tool counts, and OSHA regulations. All submissions must be uploaded completely through the Public Purchase online bidding system by the deadline; incomplete submissions will be deemed non-responsive.
