About this opportunity

The Town of Wellington (Larimer County, Colorado) is soliciting sealed bids for general contracting on a water treatment plant laboratory and administrative expansion at 10691 N. CR 11, Wellington, CO, with bids due October 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. local time through BidNet Direct.

The scope is construction of a new 2,300 square foot building housing water sampling and testing laboratory space and administrative offices. The project manual incorporates comprehensive geotechnical data from three separate subsurface exploration reports (Soilogic dated February 15, 2018; addendum dated July 7, 2021; Substrata dated May 18, 2026). Key subsurface conditions include clayey sand overburden 3–8 feet deep underlain by sandstone/siltstone bedrock, with groundwater at 1–14 feet below surface. Foundation design specifies bearing pressure of 3,000 psf on competent bedrock or screened rock platforms, with dewatering and removal of near-surface clayey sand anticipated. Specifications span 32 divisions covering concrete, structural steel, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and site work and incorporate AIA Document A701 Instructions to Bidders (2018 edition) and AIA General Conditions A201-2017.

Clark & Enersen serves as coordinating architect/civil engineer; structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers are also involved. Bids are on a lump-sum basis for all trades. Bid security of 5 percent of the bid amount as a surety bond or certified check is required. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, proof of insurance acceptable to the owner, and proper licensure under applicable trade laws. Bids cannot be withdrawn for 45 calendar days following opening. All bidding documents are available electronically through BidNet Direct; bidders are responsible for monitoring the platform for addenda and project communications. A prebid meeting may be held; time and location details will be provided by the owner.
