About this opportunity
Henrico County Department of Public Utilities is soliciting bids for HVAC improvements at the Water Treatment Facility (10111 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, Virginia) and Raw Water Pump Station (1201 South Gaskins Road, Richmond, Virginia), with proposals due September 30, 2026.
The work includes removal and disposal of multiple air-cooled units (ACU-6 through ACU-11), associated condensers (ACC-1 through ACC-6), an air-cooled chiller (CHIL-1), and a through-the-wall air conditioner (WAC-1) at both facilities. All refrigerant must be recovered and disposed of in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations prior to demolition. The project requires complete replacement of the Direct Digital Control (DDC) system serving the Water Treatment Facility, Washwater/Sludge Pump Station, and Raw Water Pump Station with associated control components.
Additional scope includes installation of floor drains in the lab space connected to a new neutralization basin located in the interstitial space, installation of a new tepid water circulation line between water heaters and emergency plumbing fixtures, and supporting structural and architectural modifications. The construction documents are attached (840214hvacHenr.pdf, 11 MB), which govern detailed material standards and technical specifications for all demolition, installation, and control system work.
The source does not identify a contract value, contract term, incumbent contractor, set-aside or preference program, pre-bid meeting or site visit date, questions deadline, or evaluation criteria.
