About this opportunity
The Kansas Turnpike Authority is issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the inspection of four water towers located at Mile Markers 26, 65, 97, and 131 on the Kansas Turnpike. The scope of work requires vendors to perform comprehensive exterior visual and interior in-service inspections that comply with OSHA, EPA, AWWA, and NFPA standards, including assessment of structural integrity, sanitary conditions, safety systems, security measures, and coating conditions. Specific inspection activities include examination of ladders, shell, roof, vents, manways, welds, seams, foundation, anchors, safety systems, hatches, and external overflow systems, along with interior and exterior lead testing, exterior mil thickness testing, cross hatch adhesion testing, and ultrasonic testing of tank shell. Deliverables must include detailed written reports with photographs, video documentation, corrective recommendations, and cost estimates for repairs. All personnel must be trained in OSHA regulations with appropriate fall protection equipment, and any submersible equipment used for in-service inspection must be disinfected. Proposals are due by Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 2:30 PM CT through the Euna Procurement portal at https://ksturnpike.bonfirehub.com, with a questions deadline of Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM CT, a questions addendum release on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM CT, and bid selection scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 3:30 PM CT. Vendors must submit a signed copy of the RFQ, a detailed vendor-supplied quote sheet with pricing breakdowns, evidence of required insurance and applicable licenses, and a completed pricing sheet (BT-56AL) with prices for each location.
The procurement document does not indicate any set-aside designations or restrictions limiting responses to specific organization types, nor does it reference any disadvantaged enterprise requirements or incumbent vendors currently holding this contract. No existing infrastructure or technology requiring integration is mentioned in the RFQ. All prices quoted must exclude federal excise taxes and state, county, and local sales taxes. The Kansas Turnpike Authority reserves the right to waive technicalities, review all options, and accept or reject any or all bids, and all bid materials become the property of the Authority and are subject to disclosure under the Kansas Open Records Act unless specifically marked confidential with appropriate legal justification. Inquiries must be directed exclusively to Michael Cummings at MCUMMINGS@ksturnpike.com, and communication with other KTA employees regarding the RFQ may result in bid rejection. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the available documentation.
