About this opportunity

The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism is requesting bids on water tank replacement at Landsford Canal State Park, with bids due October 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM and questions due September 25 at 3:00 PM. Vendors may claim South Carolina or U.S. end-product preferences, resident vendor preferences, resident contractor preferences, or resident subcontractor preferences under Section 11-35-1524 of the South Carolina Code of Laws if they meet statutory requirements.

The scope includes replacement of a 900-gallon ASME-rated hydro-pneumatic tank that services two residences, a maintenance shop, an RV site, public restrooms, and an office building. The vendor must supply and install a whitewater air compressor, 40/60 pressure switch, new tank saddles, and relocated pump controls into the pump house, along with all electrical and plumbing fittings. Removal and disposal of the old tank are included. All labor, material, and freight costs must be included in the bid price, and pricing shall be fixed for the contract duration and exclude sales or use taxes.

This is a one-time buy with an estimated start date of October 16, 2026 and completion required by January 15, 2027 — approximately three months. Work must be performed during park hours. Site visits by appointment may be arranged by contacting Nathan Johnson at 803-798-5800. The contractor must carry commercial general liability, auto liability, and worker's compensation insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence, with the state named as an additional insured. All work must comply with South Carolina Department of Environmental Controls standards, and a state representative will inspect the completed work before final payment authorization. All offerors must be registered in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System and submit bids online through the state's procurement portal. Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, with notification scheduled for October 7, 2026.
