About this opportunity
County of Mariposa Public Works Department is requesting sealed bids for the Triangle Road Striping/Slurry Project 2026, with bids due August 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A California C-32 (Parking and Highways Improvement) contractor's license is required, and the successful bidder must self-perform no less than 75 percent of the work (excluding specialty items) — a material capability filter.
The scope comprises two components: four-inch white edge line striping along both edges of Triangle Road from State Route 49 to SR 140 (11.70 miles) and Type 2 Slurry Seal with centerline and symbol striping from SR 49 to Tip Top Road (1.60 miles). Bid items include mobilization/demobilization, traffic control systems, roadway surface preparation, job-site management and best management practices, slurry seal application (200 tons), edge line striping (123,550 linear feet), and centerline striping (8,448 linear feet). All labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, traffic control, and incidentals are included in bid prices. The contractor is responsible for presenting a schedule, public notifications, traffic control, and cat-tracking approval prior to striping applications.
The project is state-funded (Project No. PWRD-HSIP 5940 (143)) and subject to prevailing wage requirements under California Labor Code Sections 1770 et seq. The contractor and all listed subcontractors must register with the California Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. The successful bidder must furnish 100 percent performance and payment bonds and submit a bid bond or certified check equal to 10 percent of the total bid price. Work must be completed within 25 business days from the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages for failure to complete on time are $1,000 per day. Questions are due August 3, 2026. The apparent low responsive and responsible bidder will be notified of award within 60 calendar days after bid opening (or 90 days if a bid protest is filed).
