About this opportunity
The Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles is issuing a Request for Information on therapy dog vendor partnership capability for the Juvenile Division, with responses due October 15, 2026. This is a planning-stage RFI for informational purposes only and does not constitute a binding solicitation; the Court has no obligation to reimburse respondents for response costs.
The Court seeks handler-dog teams to deliver trauma-informed, animal-assisted emotional support to youth and families in the Juvenile Dependency and Juvenile Justice systems across multiple Los Angeles County courthouse locations, including the Edmund D. Edelman Courthouse (26 Dependency Courts), Compton Courthouse, Alfred J. McCourtney Juvenile Justice Center, and eight additional designated facilities.
Vendors must provide handler-dog teams meeting rigorous behavioral, obedience, and public access standards; maintain liability insurance; confirm availability upon request; ensure proper dog care, safety, and cleanup on Court property; and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols. Professional decorum and punctuality at all designated locations are required. The Court will coordinate with Juvenile courthouse management to establish service schedules and track qualitative and quantitative feedback from court staff.
RFI responses must address vendor capability, technical approach, work plan, and general pricing information. Responses are requested for market research purposes only and will not constitute an offer or bid. All submissions must be made electronically through the Court's Online Procurement Portal at https://lacourt.bonfirehub.com (Bonfire). The Court's standard procurement procedures apply; Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise incentives may apply to qualifying vendors in any subsequent formal solicitation. Contact Conrado "Rudy" Bituin for questions.
