About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles to gather market research regarding the capability to provide therapy dog services to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Juvenile Division. The Court seeks to establish a vendor partnership to deliver trauma-informed, animal-assisted emotional support to youth and families involved in both the Juvenile Dependency and Juvenile Justice systems across multiple Los Angeles County courthouse locations, including the Edmund D. Edelman Courthouse (26 Dependency Courts), Compton Courthouse, Alfred J. McCourtney Juvenile Justice Center, and eight other designated facilities. The RFI solicits information on vendor capability, technical approach, work plan, and general pricing information; specific response dates and submission deadlines are available on the Court's Online Procurement Website at https://lacourt.bonfirehub.com (Bonfire). All responses must be submitted electronically through this platform. The RFI explicitly states this is for planning and informational purposes only and does not constitute a binding solicitation; responses will not be returned, and the Court has no obligation to reimburse respondents for any expenses associated with responding.
Vendors are expected to provide handler-dog teams that meet rigorous behavioral, obedience, and public access standards, maintain liability insurance, confirm availability upon request, and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols. The Court will serve as the collaborative partner responsible for coordinating with Juvenile courthouse management, establishing service schedules, and tracking qualitative and quantitative feedback from court staff. Pricing information is requested for market research purposes only and will not constitute an offer or bid. The vendor must ensure proper dog care, safety, and cleanup while on Court property and maintain professional decorum and punctuality at all designated locations. The primary contact for this opportunity is Conrado "Rudy" Bituin of the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
