Student Union Replace Auditorium Lighting and Theatrical Control System

The State University of New York at Buffalo is requesting bids for replacement of auditorium lighting and theatrical control systems at the Student Union, with proposals due October 22, 2026.

The scope encompasses complete removal of existing lighting and control infrastructure and installation of a modern integrated system for theatrical productions, presentations, and special events. Deliverables include lighting fixtures, dimming systems, control consoles, networking infrastructure, and theatrical rigging components; design coordination; equipment procurement; installation and testing; commissioning; comprehensive system documentation and as-built drawings; and operator training for university personnel. Contractors must demonstrate experience with theatrical lighting systems and control technology in higher education venues and provide detailed equipment specifications, installation methodologies, and project timelines. All work must comply with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.

Construction is anticipated during summer months to minimize disruption to academic operations and scheduled events. Contractors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and coordinating with the university's facilities and IT departments. The successful bidder will provide warranty coverage and ongoing technical support for the system. Work is performed at the Student Union on the State University of New York at Buffalo campus in Erie County, New York.
