About this opportunity
The City of Dunwoody, Georgia, in coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from engineering design consultants for GDOT Project PI 0021596 to design pedestrian and bicycle accommodations with streetscape elements and operational improvements along North Peachtree Road from Dunwoody Crossing to Barclay Drive, with SOQs due September 10, 2026.
The prime consultant must hold GDOT prequalification in Area Classes 3.13 (Facilities for Bicycles and Pedestrians) and 3.02 (Two-Lane or Multi-lane Urban Roadway Design). The overall team must include prequalified expertise across NEPA documentation, environmental studies, traffic analysis, surveying, utilities engineering, and landscape architecture.
Scope encompasses environmental documentation, preliminary and final construction plans, signing and marking plans, right-of-way plans, erosion control plans, staging plans, and construction services aligned with GDOT's Plan Development Process and design standards. The City anticipates awarding one contract to a single qualified firm. Contract amount is to be determined through negotiations; payment structure is cost-plus-fixed-fee.
The project timeline extends from Preliminary Engineering Notice to Proceed in FY 2027 through Construction Contract Award in FY 2031, with intermediate approvals anticipated in FY 2028 through FY 2030. Selection uses a two-phase evaluation: Phase I weights experience and qualifications at 30% and resources and workload capacity at 20%; Phase II weights technical approach at 40% and past performance at 10%. Finalist notification and Phase II technical approach responses are scheduled for dates to be determined. The City reserves the right to negotiate with the highest-ranked firm and successively lower-ranked firms until agreement is reached.
Written questions are due August 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. All submissions must comply with strict page limits, formatting requirements, and administrative certifications, including notarized certification forms and Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act affidavits.
