About this opportunity
UW Medicine is requesting proposals to establish a contract with a qualified bidder to serve as a strategic partner in expanding its health system-owned Specialty Pharmacy Program, with a primary focus on strengthening specialty pharmacy payor access, with proposals due October 12, 2026.
MWBE and Small Business participation are voluntary targets; no minimum participation levels are required, and proposals will not be rejected based on participation levels. Contractors selected for award must maintain records for three years documenting utilization of MWBEs and other businesses as subcontractors and suppliers.
The scope requires demonstrated expertise in specialty pharmacy operations, payor relationship management, and specialty medication distribution. The successful bidder must address UW Medicine's objectives regarding payor reimbursement optimization, formulary placement, and care coordination processes. Bidders must complete a Proposal Response Certification form attesting compliance with RFP requirements and confirming active registration in the U.S. General Services Administration System for Award Management (SAM), and must certify that neither they nor their parent companies, subsidiaries, or DBAs are listed with current exclusions, suspensions, or debarments from federal programs, including the HHS Office of Inspector General LEIE. Bidders must also complete an MWBE participation form and respond to a sustainability questionnaire evaluating environmental, social, and governance practices.
Bidder questions were due October 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM Pacific Time, with UW Medicine's answers to bidder questions scheduled for October 16, 2026 by 5:00 PM Pacific Time. The RFP package includes a sample contract template, general terms and conditions, business associate agreement, and data security and privacy agreement. UW Medicine notes it is not standard practice to share information regarding historical collections and the current vendor.
The source does not specify estimated contract value, contract term, or detailed evaluation criteria weighting.
