About this opportunity

The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Bureau of Engineering is requesting bids on Sidewalk Repair Program Package No. 86 (LA 28), a Design-Bid-Build construction project for ADA compliance remediation across 57 pedestrian sites, with bids due September 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Los Angeles City Hall, Room 355, and a pre-bid meeting on August 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. via Google Meet. The prime contractor must hold a valid California Contractor's License Classification "A," subcontract a minimum of 25 percent of the Total Bid Amount (excluding fixed costs) to qualified subcontractors, and perform at least 50 percent of the contract price with its own forces.

The scope spans sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter replacement; curb ramp installation; asphalt concrete and concrete gutter repairs; tree removal, planting, canopy trimming, and root pruning; landscape restoration; roll gate and track replacement; and adjustment and reinstallation of utility boxes and water meters across 49 Access Request Sites and 8 Program Access Improvement sites. The Board of Public Works anticipates participation levels of 4 percent MBE, 2 percent WBE, 25 percent SBE, 8 percent EBE, and 3 percent DVBE. The Local Business Preference Program offers bid reductions of up to 12 percent for certified Local Business Enterprises and City Business Enterprises. Bidders must complete Business Inclusion Program (BIP) outreach documentation on the City's Regional Alliance Marketplace for Procurement (RAMP) by 4:30 p.m. on the calendar day following bid receipt; failure to do so renders the bid non-responsive. A 10 percent bid bond is required. Compliance with the Contractor Responsibility Ordinance, Non-Discrimination and Equal Employment Practices, Equal Benefits Ordinance, First Source Hiring Ordinance, Iran Contracting Act of 2010, California Senate Bill 854, and the Buy Clean California Act is mandatory.
