About this opportunity
Los Angeles Unified School District Procurement Services Division is requesting bids on fabrication, delivery, and installation of Division of the State Architect (DSA) approved shade structures at various school sites districtwide under IFB R-26057, with bids due July 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. PST through SAP Business Network.
Bidders must hold a current California "B" General Contractors License continuously active for at least three years, possess a California Business License or City of Los Angeles Tax Registration Certificate, be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, and be prequalified with the District or have submitted their prequalification questionnaire prior to bid opening. Prevailing wage requirements apply to projects exceeding $15,000 for alteration, demolition, repair, or maintenance work and $25,000 for construction work, with compliance monitored by the California Department of Industrial Relations and the District's Labor Compliance Program.
The scope includes fabrication, delivery, and installation of shade structures designed for the most common configuration of 30 feet by 40 feet four-post hip structures with 15-foot maximum entry height, though site-specific configurations will vary based on space availability. All structures must be designed to withstand worst-case California seismic and wind loads for districtwide deployment. Bidders must submit DSA-approved Pre-Check designs for all structures and a letter of bondability from an admitted surety insurer. All chemical products require approval by the District's Office of Environmental Health & Safety.
The resulting contract will be for three years plus two optional one-year extension periods. Award is not exclusive; the District reserves the right to contract for similar services through other contractors and does not establish a minimum spend requirement. Award is made to the most qualified, responsive, and responsible bidder(s) submitting the lowest average cost for line items 1–3 on the rate schedule. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom. Written questions are due July 10, 2026. Bid tabulation is anticipated by July 24, 2026, with an anticipated contract start date of October 1, 2026.
