This is an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Procurement Services Division for Shade Structure Services on a districtwide basis. The District seeks contractors to fabricate, deliver, and install Division of the State Architect (DSA) approved shade structures at various school sites. The most common configuration is a 30'x40' four-post hip structure with a 15-foot maximum entry height, though configurations will vary based on site-specific space availability and requirements. All structures must be designed to withstand California seismic and wind loads for districtwide deployment. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom. The deadline for written questions is July 10, 2026, and bids must be submitted through SAP Business Network by 11:00 a.m. PST on July 22, 2026. Bid tabulation is anticipated by July 24, 2026, with an anticipated contract start date of October 1, 2026. The resulting contract will be for three years plus two optional one-year extension periods. The award will be made to the most qualified, responsive, and responsible bidder(s) submitting the lowest average cost for line items 1-3 on the rate schedule.

Bidders must hold a current California "B" General Contractors License (continuously active for at least three years), possess a California Business License or City of Los Angeles Tax Registration Certificate, be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, and be prequalified with the District or have submitted their prequalification questionnaire prior to bid opening. Contractors must submit a letter of bondability from an admitted surety insurer and provide DSA-approved Pre-Check designs for all structures. Prevailing wage requirements apply to projects exceeding $15,000 for alteration, demolition, repair, or maintenance work and $25,000 for construction work, with compliance monitored by the California Department of Industrial Relations and the District's Labor Compliance Program. All chemical products must be reviewed and approved by the District's Office of Environmental Health & Safety. The contract does not have a minimum spend requirement, and award is not exclusive; the District reserves the right to contract for similar services through other contractors.

Moreover, certain Contracts are designed to be awarded to the Bidders providing the most qualified responsive bids on specific items or parts. Bidders are cautioned and urged to pay specific attention to all terms and conditions in the bidding documents pertaining to such awards.

Bidders should retain a copy of their bid and all bidding documents. In the event of an award, the bid and all bidding documents shall become the Agreement. The only other documents provided to the successful Bidder shall be a “Notice of Intent to Award,” and a signed “Services Agreement” form.

However, it is incumbent on the Bidder to assert any rights to confidentiality and to seek and obtain a court order prohibiting the release of such information.

Under no circumstances, shall the District be responsible or liable to the Bidder or any other party for the disclosure of any such labeled information, whether the disclosure is required by law or a court order or occurs through inadvertence, mistake, or negligence on the part of the District or its officers, employees, and/or Contractors.

All records, documents, drawings, plans, specifications and other information relating to conduct of the District's business, including information submitted by the Contractor shall become the exclusive property of the District and shall be deemed public records. Bidders desiring additional information concerning the forms or any of the other documents comprising the Bid or Contract Specifications may contact the Contract Officer.
