About this opportunity

Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) is requesting proposals for school buses for its Transportation Department, with proposals due March 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and questions due March 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. The solicitation permits cooperative purchasing by other Fayette County government entities and local municipalities at the same quoted prices.

FCPS seeks either 48/54-passenger or 72-passenger school buses equipped with Cummins engines, Allison transmissions, wheelchair lifts, video surveillance systems, and climate control, complying with Georgia Department of Education standards. Proposers must submit minimum three client reference letters dated within the previous two calendar years, manufacturer certifications, warranty documentation, and technical specifications. Pricing must include line-item costs for each proposed bus configuration with a grand total, excluding applicable federal or state taxes that can be eliminated for boards of education in Georgia. Proposers must provide separate pricing for both standard configurations and optional extended warranties covering air conditioning, engine, transmission, chassis, and body systems.

FCPS maintains a fleet of approximately 250 buses and anticipates purchasing approximately 15 buses annually, though quantities are subject to change based on budget allocations and school system needs. The contract term extends from the date of award through June 30, 2022, with options to renew for four additional fiscal-year terms. Delivery is required to the FCPS Goza Road Operations Center at 939 Goza Road, Fayetteville, Georgia. Proposals may be submitted electronically, by mail, or hand-delivered to the LaFayette Educational Center, Building A, 205 LaFayette Avenue, Fayetteville, Georgia 30214. The evaluation committee will assess proposals on qualifications, experience, technical proposals, and pricing using a four-point scale (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor) and reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and conduct post-proposal interviews at its discretion. Final contract approval requires authorization from the Superintendent and/or Board of Education.
