About this opportunity

Stony Brook University is requesting qualifications for design and standards development services covering campuswide external pedestrian and vehicular wayfinding under RFQ 2526-160MC, with qualifications due July 17, 2026 at 12:00 PM EDT and a questions deadline of July 1, 2026.

The scope addresses wayfinding design standards and solutions for a 1,100-acre campus encompassing approximately 4.96 million square feet of building space and over 16 miles of roadway serving nearly 26,000 students and 14,500 faculty and staff. The university seeks a single qualified consultant demonstrating experience with projects of similar size and scope. Respondents must submit qualifications only; cost proposals are not requested at this stage and will be solicited following consultant selection. The selected firm will be required to submit New York State Consultant Services reporting forms documenting planned and actual employment data and must comply with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements.

The contractor must obtain contractor identification badges for employees, arrange parking through the campus traffic office, and comply with all applicable state and local regulations. Payment will be rendered electronically upon receipt of properly approved invoices that comply with New York State requirements and include the contractor's Federal ID number. The university reserves the right to reject any or all qualifications, terminate the contract with thirty days' written notice, negotiate with alternative offerors, and waive or amend requirements. Contract term and specific project duration are not detailed in the RFQ; pricing and contract terms will be established in a subsequent phase after consultant selection.

Responses must be submitted through SUNY's web-based sourcing platform (Jaggaer). The primary contact is Craig Darcy at Craig.Darcy@stonybrook.edu.
