About this opportunity
Boston Public Schools is requesting bids on robotics and automation instructional equipment for the Robotics and Automation Technology program at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, with proposals due October 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM EDT under IFB EV00017918. No set-aside or preference program applies; the Equitable Procurement Compliance review determined that no certified vendors capable of meeting the full scope of requirements were identified, resulting in a non-set-aside procurement.
The scope encompasses comprehensive vocational robotics and automation equipment across two years, including industrial control systems (Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms), Fanuc collaborative robotic arms (three LR Mate 200iD/4S units in Year 2), programmable educational platforms (LEGO MINDSTORMS, Arduino, SPIKE Prime, mBot variants, Ozobot, Dash, Edison, BOLT), 3D printers (Bambu brand), test and measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, tachometers), workshop tools (band saws, drill presses, desoldering equipment), electrical components, pneumatic cylinders, and component storage systems. Vendors must provide all hardware, software licenses, cables, accessories, and components necessary for full operation; delivery, installation, configuration, and testing upon purchase order receipt; a minimum one-year warranty; and instructor training for implementation, operation, and equipment maintenance. Vendors must demonstrate a minimum of three years' experience providing robotics and automation instructional equipment to secondary schools, technical schools, colleges, or workforce training programs.
The estimated contract value is $150,000 over a three-year term (FY26-27 through FY28-29), with delivery to BPS Administrative Offices at 2300 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02119 by November 4, 2026. Award determination is based on responsive and responsible bidders offering the lowest price meeting all specified requirements. Bids must include executed Non-Collusion, Tax Compliance, CM-16 Wage Theft Prevention, CM-09 Contractor Certification, CORI Compliance Certification (CM-15A), and Certificate of Authority (CM-06 for corporations) forms; evidence of Commercial General Liability insurance ($1 million per occurrence, $2 million aggregate) and additional City-required coverage; and certification of compliance with Boston prevailing wage and wage theft prevention laws. Vendors must submit bids electronically through Boston's Supplier Portal or by hard copy to the Business Services Contract Manager at 2300 Washington Street, Roxbury, MA 02119.
