About this opportunity

Padre Dam Municipal Water District is requesting proposals from qualified engineering firms to prepare plans for relocating water facilities impacted by the County of San Diego's Riverford Roundabout project, with proposals due July 30, 2026.

The scope includes identifying new alignment options and locations for 8, 12, and 36 water transmission mains and a turnout facility, then completing final design in conformance with San Diego Water Agency Standards, American Water Works Association standards, and District operational standards. The relocation is necessary to accommodate the County's reconfiguration of intersections and ramps at the SR67 and Riverford Road junctions, currently in final design phase. Engineering firms must demonstrate qualifications in water infrastructure relocation and design.

The District owns and maintains the affected facilities. Deliverables must support the District's coordination with the County of San Diego and ensure continued water system operations during and after relocation. No contract value, term length, or evaluation criteria weightings are specified in the available materials. The RFP document is attached (3 MB, posted July 13, 2026).
