About this opportunity
The New York State Department of Transportation is issuing Request for Information 2026-02 to assess marketplace solutions for low-band VHF truck radio mounting and antenna ground-plane performance as OEMs transition truck roof materials from metal to composites, with responses due August 25, 2026.
This is a market-research RFI rather than a procurement with defined specifications or pricing. NYSDOT seeks vendor input on technical feasibility, available products, and transition pathways for continued low-band VHF radio operation under changed roof-material conditions. Vendors interested in receiving updates and notifications should submit a one-page Letter of Interest to Dawn.Turgeon@dot.ny.gov containing firm name, address, contact person, email, and phone number.
The RFI response due date of August 25, 2026, is subject to change. Full RFI requirements are available on the NYSDOT website at https://www.dot.ny.gov/business under "Consultant Service Advertisements" linked to the RFI2026-02 date. A Question Template spreadsheet (RFI202602 Question Template.xls) has been posted; vendors submitting questions during the Q&A period must use the template, reference the specific RFI section and page number, and follow the file-naming convention "RFI202602Questions.FirmName" with "RFI202602" in the email subject line when submitting to the designated contact.
