About this opportunity
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is requesting bids for removal and replacement of a roof on a picnic shed at Webb Wildlife Management Area in Garnett, Hampton County, with bids due October 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM EST through the SCEIS online portal, FEDX, UPS, or USPS.
Contractors must hold a current South Carolina general contractor's license and provide proof of license with the bid. South Carolina procurement preferences for resident vendors, subcontractors, and SC/US end products apply if claimed. The solicitation strongly recommends site visits for personal assessment before bidding, though no formal pre-bid conference or site visit is scheduled.
The scope includes complete removal and disposal of the existing shingle roof system down to the wood deck, replacement of any damaged plywood, installation of synthetic underlayment and peel-and-stick ice and water shield, and installation of a new standing seam metal roof panel system with all trim and hardware. Panels must be Galvalume-coated steel (AZ50, ASTM A792-83 compliant, 24–22 gauge minimum) with color specified by the Webb Center Project leader. The existing gutter system and downspouts must be removed. Bidding includes four line items: base roof replacement cost, replacement of additional unexpected soffit at 50 square feet (subject to SCDNR approval), replacement of additional unexpected sheathing at 10 four-by-eight-foot sheets (subject to SCDNR approval), and replacement of additional unexpected fascia at 50 linear feet (subject to SCDNR approval).
The estimated contract start date is October 8, 2026, with completion required within 90 days of purchase order receipt (deadline January 15, 2027). Award will be posted October 7, 2026. The contractor must furnish a manufacturer's 25-year warranty on materials and a 5-year contractor's warranty on workmanship, and maintain current general contractor's liability insurance. Payment terms are net 30 days from invoice. Written questions are due September 18, 2026 at 12:00 PM EST. Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
