About this opportunity
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a contractor to design and construct two hammock shelters at Burr Oak State Park in Glouster, Ohio. The project requires building two 12' x 12' open shelters with specific construction specifications, including treated 6x6 posts, a hip roof with a minimum 3-foot overhang, a 14' x 14' treated lumber wood deck, and a dark brown 26-gauge metal roof. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining building permits, coordinating inspections, and providing stamped plans. The project is partially funded by a federal grant from the United States Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration, which subjects the contract to federal regulations including a Buy America Provision. The solicitation is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) with a project completion deadline of September 30, 2025, and potential bidders are encouraged to conduct a site visit by contacting specific DNR representatives prior to submitting a bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, determined by calculating the low lot total.
The procurement opportunity appears to be open to all qualified vendors without specific set-aside designations. Contractors must comply with various state and federal requirements, including completing an Affirmation and Disclosure Form that details service and data locations, and affirming compliance with Executive Orders prohibiting offshore services. The contract includes strict invoicing requirements, with invoices to be submitted directly to Ohio Shared Services through email, fax, or mail, and must include specific detailed information such as the Purchase Order number and complete itemization of services. The purchase order is valid only through June 30, 2025, with any goods or services after that date requiring a new purchase order. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the project involves constructing two shelters with associated infrastructure and permitting requirements. Contractors must also adhere to the State of Ohio's Standard Terms and Conditions, which include comprehensive legal and operational requirements, information security standards, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
