About this opportunity

The City of Boston Procurement Department is requesting bids on five new Pursuit Interceptor Utility all-wheel-drive hybrid marked vehicles for the Boston Police Department, with bids due October 28, 2026. Bidders must be certified dealerships and provide warranty work pickup and delivery services to the City.

The vehicles must feature a 3.3L V6 hybrid engine with 10-speed automatic transmission, Oxford White, Blue, or Gray paint options, and Charcoal Black cloth interior. Law enforcement equipment includes HAVIS firearm storage systems, Pro-Guard rear seat partitions, auxiliary lighting, and telecommunications systems meeting FCC and Massachusetts regulatory standards. All supplies, parts, and attachments necessary for a complete and safe product must be furnished at no additional cost. Delivery must occur within 120 days from purchase order award. Contact for delivery coordination is Sean Sullivan, Director of Fleet Management (857-300-7725, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

The City of Boston Truck Side Guard Ordinance applies to all motor vehicles over 10,000 pounds contracting with City agencies, requiring installation of side guards, convex mirrors, cross-over mirrors, and blind-spot awareness decals mounted per specified technical dimensions and positioning standards. Vendors must schedule inspections before commencing work.

Warranty coverage includes 60-month/100,000-mile extended Premium Care warranty with $0 deductible, 36-month/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage, 60-month/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and 60-month unlimited-distance corrosion perforation warranty, all with 100% parts and labor coverage and pickup and delivery service. Boston Police Fleet staff must be able to perform warranty work and factory recalls in-house with certified technicians; labor and parts reimbursement rates must be included in the bid. The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Bidders must submit a compliance document, CM-06 Certificate of Authority (for corporations), CM-16 Wage Theft Prevention Form, CORI policy compliance certification, non-debarred status confirmation, and specified delivery timeline. Purchase is contingent upon availability of appropriation; contract award does not constitute an order.
