About this opportunity
Coastal Carolina University is requesting quotes for one research-grade Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) compound microscope under RFQ CCU-9300819, with offers due September 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EST and questions due September 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EST.
The microscope must be a binocular compound microscope configured for transmitted light microscopy with DIC imaging capabilities suitable for biological research applications. The University will accept refurbished, reconditioned, or used equipment provided it has been professionally serviced and fully operational. The critical integration requirement is compatibility with the University's existing Jenoptik Gryphax NAOS 20MP Color Digital Camera; all necessary adapters and accessories must be included. The specification references an Olympus BX51 DIC or approved equal; bidders proposing alternate products must submit detailed manufacturer specifications and documentation for equivalency evaluation. Prospective bidders must provide three references and manufacturer's latest literature with complete product specifications.
Pricing must include the microscope, all required components, camera adapters, accessories, packaging, shipping, handling, and all other applicable charges, with sales or use taxes excluded. A minimum warranty of ninety days covering parts and labor is required, though longer warranty periods are encouraged. Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. The University reserves the right to conduct a thirty-day acceptance testing and evaluation period following delivery and installation, during which nonconforming or underperforming equipment may be rejected.
This is a one-time purchase contract that terminates upon completion. Submissions must be made online through https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=CoastalCarolina. Vendor registration through the online bidding system is mandatory. Nonresident contractors are subject to South Carolina withholding requirements: 2% on services under Section 12-8-550, with exemptions available upon registration with the South Carolina Department of Revenue and submission of Form I-312. The Procurement Officer is Tracy O'Keefe, tokeefe@coastal.edu, 843-349-2741.
