About this opportunity
The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is requesting sealed bids for construction of a pedestrian steel truss bridge and associated site work at Cherry Creek State Park under IFB1 PMAA 2027000013 (Project CC2501T11), with bids due October 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certification holders may claim a five percent bid preference. Colorado labor must comprise at least 80 percent of the workforce, with written justification required if unmet.
The scope includes a 100-foot pedestrian steel truss bridge approximately 10 feet wide spanning Cherry Creek; 192 linear feet of 24-inch diameter drilled shafts; clearing, grubbing, erosion control, excavation, concrete work, reinforcing steel, and bridge girder and deck installation; removal of five trees; and 600 linear feet of crusher fines trail construction (200 feet west and 400 feet east of the bridge). The contractor must verify bedrock depth through bedrock sounding prior to shaft construction. Geotechnical investigation indicates claystone bedrock at approximately 17 feet depth with unconfined compressive strengths of 14,000 to 20,000 psf. The contractor must obtain Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for asphalt, cement, concrete mixtures, steel, and precast concrete at least 14 calendar days prior to material placement and comply with Global Warming Potential limits under the Buy Clean Colorado Act. All work is subject to Buy America and Buy American requirements. Apprenticeship utilization certification is required as the project budget exceeds $1 million.
Notice to Proceed is anticipated November 12, 2026, with substantial completion by May 31, 2027 (200 calendar days maximum). A five percent bid bond is required for bids of $150,000 or more; performance, labor, and material bonds at 100 percent of contract price are required upon award. The pre-bid conference (non-mandatory) was September 17, 2026; written questions were due September 24, 2026. Addenda 1, 2, and 3 were issued September 15–29, 2026, including corrected Drawing Set 2 and clarified drilled shaft specifications. Award is anticipated October 13, 2026.
