About this opportunity
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is requesting bids for locksmith and core key system services to Transportation Security Administration Customs Armories, with bids due July 21, 2026. The scope centers on the Dormakaba Best Coremax Keying System — a single-source specification that filters capability.
The contractor must supply uncut or blank keys with a "3010" coining on the head and Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) restricted keyway system cores; all cores must be BHMA/ANSI A156.5 certified. The DFW Airport will cut keys per its registered key hierarchy codes. The contractor must provide 24/7 on-call emergency repair services with a maximum two-hour response time to site. Three professional references demonstrating proven airport-setting experience and similar scope complexity are required. Pricing for locksmith keys and cores is firm fixed for the entire five-year contract term and all-inclusive of labor, employee certification, materials, equipment, supplies, overhead, and costs. Quantities represent historical usage only; the Airport reserves the right to order more or less without guarantee.
Repair services beyond the keying scope fall under Charge Reimbursable provisions and require prior written approval from the DFW Airport Board Administrator before work commences. Charge Reimbursable Work above $3,000 must be competitively bid to at least three qualified providers unless otherwise approved. Markups for Charge Reimbursable Work are limited to 15% when the contractor performs all work, with subcontractor markups not exceeding 5% and aggregate markups not exceeding 15% combined. The contractor may manage minor repair, alteration, and replacement projects up to $24,999 per repair; larger projects are the Airport's responsibility. The contractor shall provide manufacturer's standard warranty for all new materials and equipment. The contract term is five years with no renewal options.
