About this opportunity
Ontario-Montclair School District (OMSD) is requesting sealed bids for replacement of a concrete ramp at Lehigh Elementary School under Bid No. C-267-425, with bids due October 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. via the District's Bonfire online vendor portal. A non-mandatory pre-bid walk is scheduled for October 6, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the school site. Bidders must hold a current California Class B contractor's license at contract award.
The scope includes demolition of an existing noncompliant ramp at Portable Buildings H3 and H4, construction of a new ADA and California Building Code–compliant concrete ramp with handrails, regrading, and asphalt and concrete pathwork totaling 645 square feet of new asphalt and 133 square feet of concrete replacement. The ramp design incorporates a 5.6 percent slope, new concrete landing areas, and galvanized steel handrails meeting CBC Section 11B-505 requirements. Work must be coordinated around the 2026–2027 school year (students return August 5, 2026; last day May 20, 2027) and maintain ADA accessibility standards with 2% cross slope and 5% running slope.
The contract completion period is sixty consecutive calendar days from Notice to Proceed. No bids may be withdrawn for ninety calendar days after bid opening. Liquidated damages are set at $500 per calendar day for delays beyond the completion date. Bid security of 10% of the maximum bid amount is required in the form of cash, certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond from a California-admitted surety. Upon award, the successful contractor must provide payment and performance bonds each equal to 100% of the total contract price.
Prevailing wage requirements apply under California Labor Code sections 1720 et seq., with rates established by the Department of Industrial Relations. General liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate is required. All subcontractors performing work exceeding 0.5% of the total bid must be identified with current CSLB and DIR registration numbers. A $10,000 allowance for unforeseen conditions is included in the contract at the District's discretion.
