The project involves installation of approximately 1,132 linear feet of new 8-inch HDPE SDR 17 piping and 6-inch HDPE SDR 17 piping to replace deteriorating outlet piping from the Groundwater Treatment Plant, with connection to existing 12-inch PVC piping at South Deer Creek. The estimated construction cost is $120,000. The contract completion time is 45 working days from the notice to proceed, with liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day for delays beyond the completion date. The bid structure includes eight line items covering mobilization and demobilization, layout and as-built drawings, PVC pipe connection, HDPE pipe installation (both sizes), air relief valve installation, excavation and restoration, and culvert installation, with payment on unit price, lump sum, or allowance basis only after each portion is completed.
Award will be based on the base bid only with no consideration of additive or deductive items. Successful bidders must submit a bid bond, certified check, or cash equal to ten percent of the aggregate bid amount, plus performance and payment bonds each equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations.
