The scope encompasses complete asphalt pavement removal and replacement at both lots, including aggregate subbase installation, base course, binder course, and wearing course construction in accordance with Michigan Department of Transportation standards and specifications. Bid bonds or certified checks equal to 5% of the bid amount are required for bids exceeding $23,417. Bids exceeding $50,000 require performance bonds and labor–materials payment bonds at 100% of the bid amount. All bidders must provide proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance and comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence for bodily injury and $2 million aggregate for property damage. The successful contractor must execute a two-year warranty guarantee on bituminous pavement workmanship and materials.
Required submittals include one original sealed proposal and two sealed copies; a notarized Certification of No Familial Interest with Board of Education members; Iran Economic Sanctions Act Certification; Bidder Information Form; Bidder Certification; and Contractor Code of Conduct acknowledgment. An optional walkthrough is available by contacting the Utility Department at 313-295-5848.
