About this opportunity

The Oregon Department of Transportation, Region 2 is soliciting bids for intermittent overlay paving on Oregon Route 126E from milepost 10.87 to 38.02 in Lane County under an On-Call Region 2 Paving Price Agreement, with bids due July 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Only existing price agreement holders may submit bids — a restrictive eligibility constraint that filters the competition to pre-qualified vendors.

The scope includes a 2-inch overlay paving operation covering the full width from edge of pavement to edge of pavement over approximately 27 miles. Work includes guardrail adjustments (with an allowance of 1,000 feet for unknown extent), removal of existing recessed markers, taper grinding and inlaying at the Gray Creek bridge (BR03964A), shoulder rock installation 3 feet wide at overlay thickness depth, wing-outs at paved driveways and driveway approaches, milled tapers at project start and stop points and county road approaches, and longitudinal markings and legends restored to match existing color, layout, location, and material. Shoulder rock installation and pavement marking are incidental to the paving work.

Bidders must submit pricing via the Request for Bid/Resulting Work Order form for one project unit under NIGP Code 913-95 (Paving and Resurfacing, Highway and Road). Electronic quotes are accepted and require an alternate ID for submission. Bids should be directed to Joanne Robinson, purchaser, at ODOT Region 2, 455 Airport Road SE, Building B, Salem, Oregon 97310; via email at ODOT.R2.HQ.Mainline@odot.oregon.gov; or by phone at (503) 986-2600. No pre-bid conference is scheduled. The project is assigned to fiscal year 27.

Opportunity text

Project Description: Intermittent 2" Overlay paving on OR126E (015) from MP10.87 to 38.02, full width edge of pavement to edge of pavement. Adjust existing guardrail to grade. The exact amount of guardrail adjustment is unknown so an allowance of 1,000' has been included in this bid as a starting point. Overlay paving is to extend to face of guardrail post, or the face drainage curb under the rail if present. Remove existing recessed markers before proceeding with overlay paving. At BR03964A Gray Creek (MP10.44), taper grind 0"-2" on both ends and inlay 2" across the deck (5" AC existing). Per 00744.90, sawing and sealing joints is incidental to the paving. Shoulder rock is assumed to be installed 3' wide with the compacted depth equal to the overlay thickness. At paved driveways and driveway approaches, wing out 2.5' per inch of ACP thickness and taper down to existing grade. Milled tapers at Project start and stop points and County road approaches (taper lengths for highway butt joints per RD610, taper county road connections 50' per inch of ACP thickness). Longitudinal markings and legends and bars to match existing color, layout/location, and material as existing. Follow 00744.44(c) regarding guidance for drop offs at the longitudinal joint due to Overlay paving.
