About this opportunity
The City of Cedar Park is requesting bids on hike and bike trail improvements at three parks in Cedar Park, Texas, with proposals due August 27, 2026. The scope includes demolition of existing decomposed granite, asphalt, and select concrete trail sections followed by replacement and realignment with concrete flatwork, concrete water crossings, and stabilized decomposed granite at Milburn Park (1901 Sun Chase Blvd.), Veterans Park (2525 W. New Hope Dr.), and Brushy Creek Lake Park (3300 Brushy Creek Rd.).
The technical specifications require comprehensive construction controls including temporary tree and plant protection, selective demolition, cast-in-place concrete with minimum 3,500 psi compressive strength at 28 days and maximum 0.40 water-cement ratio, synthetic micro-fiber reinforcement at not less than 1.0 pound per cubic yard, and pipe and tube railings designed to withstand uniform loads of 50 pounds per linear foot and concentrated loads of 200 pounds. Concrete paving features colored finishes (#750 Salmon). The contractor must provide formwork design and engineering and ensure compliance with ACI standards.
The contractor is responsible for ninety days of maintenance after Notice of Substantial Completion or until prescribed grass coverage reaches 99 percent for final acceptance, including weekly mowing (3 to 5 times monthly depending on season), edging, debris removal, and irrigation system management across a twelve-month schedule. Damaged materials caused by contractor negligence must be replaced at the contractor's cost; damage from vandalism or theft prior to substantial completion is also the contractor's responsibility.
The City of Cedar Park project manager is Paul Naughton (450 Cypress Creek Rd., Bldg. 1, Cedar Park, TX 78613). Design oversight is provided by Jonathan Wagner at studio 16:19, llc and Civil Engineer Laura Firello at Garver.
