About this opportunity
The Housing Department of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is requesting bids on standby generator installation services at the Brighton Reservation, with bids due September 17, 2026 and a mandatory pre-bid conference on August 27, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Brighton Administration Building in Okeechobee. The Tribe has established a Seminole Tribal Member and STOFI-owned business preference policy, allowing qualified tribal-owned businesses to receive preference if their bid is within four percent (not to exceed $200,000) of the lowest non-tribal bid.
The scope covers removal and disposal of existing generators and tanks, installation of five Generac liquid propane standby generators (two 48 kW units and three 32 kW units) across five residential properties, each with site preparation including a six-inch concrete pad rated for 3,000 pounds; automatic transfer switches; buried propane tanks with anode bags; sound-attenuated aluminum enclosures; emergency stop buttons; battery kits; and startup testing using 20 gallons of fuel provided by the Tribe. The single-source generator specification is Generac 120/240 volt at specified model numbers and ratings. All materials must be new with manufacturers' warranties passing through to the Tribe for a minimum of five years, plus a two-year workmanship warranty from the contractor.
Qualified bidders must hold current relevant licensing, demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience in similar services, and maintain commercial general liability and automobile liability insurance each at $1 million minimum. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference is a condition of eligibility. Work must commence within 120 calendar days of receiving the Purchase Order and be completed within 45 calendar days. Bidders must disclose any subcontractor use and obtain Tribe approval in advance. Questions are due September 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Evaluation criteria prioritize on-time complete submissions, license compliance, projected completion dates, previous performance, qualifications, current workload capacity, and pricing versus market comparison.
