About this opportunity
The Housing Department of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is requesting bids for standby generator installation services at Brighton Reservation, with bids due August 5, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. and a mandatory pre-bid conference on July 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the project location (195 N Tucker Ridge Rd., Okeechobee, Florida). The Tribe offers preference to qualified Seminole Tribal Member-owned and STOFI-owned businesses, allowing such entities to bid up to four percent higher than the lowest non-tribal bid (not to exceed $200,000).
Bidders must hold a current state or county certified electrical contractor license and maintain commercial general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, workers' compensation insurance, and automobile liability coverage of $1,000,000. A minimum of two years of experience in similar services is required. Licensed subcontractors are mandatory for liquid propane gas installation and concrete slab work.
The scope includes furnishing and installing a 32 kW Generac liquid propane standby generator, a 200-amp automatic transfer switch, a 500-gallon liquid propane tank, all associated electrical components, site preparation with concrete pad installation, and removal and disposal of the existing generator and tank. The contractor must procure all necessary permits. All materials and equipment must carry a minimum five-year warranty from final inspection approval, with an additional two-year workmanship warranty.
The contractor must commence work within 120 calendar days of receiving the purchase order and complete all services within 45 calendar days. Award notification is expected within 60 calendar days of the bid due date. Pricing must remain fixed and firm for 180 calendar days from the bid due date. Questions are due July 28, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Bidders must be pre-approved vendors registered with the Tribe's Master Vendor File prior to contract execution. Bids are submitted via BidNet Direct.
