About this opportunity

The Housing Department of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is requesting bids for standby generator installation services at Brighton Reservation under ITB-LD 112-2026, with bids due August 3, 2026, and a mandatory pre-bid conference on July 23, 2026, in Okeechobee, Florida (attendance required for bid eligibility).

The Tribe gives preference to Seminole Tribal Member-owned and STOFI-owned certified businesses. Qualified minority vendors receive a bid differential of up to four percent (not to exceed $200,000) above the lowest non-minority bid for construction projects.

The scope includes furnishing and installing a 32kW Generac liquid propane standby generator, a 500-gallon liquid propane tank, a 200-amp automatic transfer switch, all associated electrical components, and a concrete pad. Work encompasses site preparation, removal of existing equipment, permitting, and final inspection. All materials and equipment must be new and free from defects, with manufacturers' warranties of at least five years and a two-year workmanship warranty.

Bidders must hold current relevant state or county electrical contractor certification, demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience in similar services, and provide proof of adequate insurance coverage. Commercial general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence, automobile liability of $1,000,000, and employer's liability of $1,000,000 are required, with the Tribe named as an additional insured. Subcontractors require Tribe approval and must have a minimum of two years of experience.

Work must commence within 120 calendar days of the purchase order and be completed within 45 calendar days. Pricing must remain fixed and firm for 180 calendar days from the bid due date. The Tribe reserves the right to split the award among one or multiple respondents. Questions are due July 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Award notification is expected within 60 calendar days of the bid due date. Bids are submitted via BidNet Direct.
