About this opportunity

The Pinellas County School District is conducting an Invitation to Bid (ITB) number 24-JG-021 for first aid supplies, seeking vendors to provide a comprehensive range of medical and emergency preparedness items. The procurement aims to establish a contract for delivering 33 line items of first aid supplies, including alcohol, bandages, gloves, thermometers, and universal precaution kits, to be delivered to the Walter Pownall Service Center Warehouse in Largo, Florida. The contract will be effective from February 9, 2025, to February 8, 2026, with firm pricing and no renewal options. Electronic bids are due by 3:00 pm on November 18, 2024, through the District's OpenGov Procurement portal, with bidders required to provide specific brand alternatives, packaging details, and estimated quantities for each item. The District will evaluate and potentially award the contract by line item, section, or aggregate total, based on the most advantageous proposal. Bidders must comply with various requirements, including E-Verify verification, background screening, and public records laws.

The solicitation does not explicitly outline set-aside designations or specific restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must register on the OpenGov Procurement platform to receive automatic notifications about the solicitation and potential addendums. The estimated annual contract value is approximately $90,000, with the District reserving the right to extend contract terms to other governmental agencies within Florida. Vendors must submit electronic responses and are strongly advised to complete their submissions well ahead of the deadline to avoid potential technical challenges. The procurement process allows for consideration of pricing established by the State of Florida Department of Management Services' contracts and negotiated price schedules. Bidders must also be prepared to post a bid protest bond payable to the Pinellas County School District, equal to 1% of the total estimated contract value, with a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $5,000, should they wish to file a formal protest regarding the bidding process.
