About this opportunity
The City of Keller, Texas is soliciting sealed bids for hardscape, landscape, and irrigation work along approximately 550 linear feet of US 377 from Johnson Road to the End of Median, with bids due June 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Bidders must be prequalified by TxDOT — a mandatory eligibility gate. This is a federally aided project subject to prevailing wage rates per FHWA-1273 and federal nondiscrimination and DBE provisions for subcontracts of $10,000 or more.
Scope includes mobilization, right-of-way preparation and grading, irrigation design and installation (drip and bubble systems), plant bed preparation and landscape edging, plant materials in 5-gallon and 30-gallon containers, mulch and loose aggregate installation, 12-month landscape establishment, riparian protection (riprap), traffic control and barricades, erosion control logs, electrical conduit and services, and vegetative watering and fertilizer application. Work is subject to peak and off-peak hour lane-closure restrictions, with complete closure prohibitions from 3 p.m. the day before through 9 a.m. the day after specified holidays and special events.
Contract duration is 60 working days with liquidated damages for delays. Bidders must submit a bid bond or cashier's check equal to five percent of total bid amount. The apparent low bidder must demonstrate financial resources and qualifications within five working days of award notification. The successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds at 100 percent of contract price, with surety companies rated XIV or better by Best's Rating Guide. Required insurance includes workers' compensation (statutory limits), commercial general liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit), comprehensive automobile ($1,000,000 combined single limit), and builder's risk, with the City named as additional insured on all policies. Award will be made to the lowest responsive bidder. Questions are due June 22, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. through CivCast or to Laura Presley, Landscape Architect. Bid documents are available online through CivCast beginning June 8, 2026.
