About this opportunity
The City of Austin Purchasing Office is requesting quotations for connector bolts under IFQ 1100 BAS1102, with quotes due September 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The solicitation follows a tiered distribution approach, initially limited to certified HUB or M/WBE vendors via email, with broader online posting only if adequate quotes are not received from the initial group.
The scope is 125 units of a 45-degree aluminum terminal connector designed to join two 2500 MCM AAC cables to a flat pad, rated for 3000 amps continuous operation. The terminal must be fully cast from 356-T6 aluminum alloy without welding, equipped with a bolt and lock washer cable clamping system with hex-stops for single-wrench installation. The flat pad shall be 4-inch NEMA 4 configuration with finished contact surfaces on both sides, free of foreign substances. Five approved manufacturers are listed: AFL Global, Homac, HPS, Sefcor, and Travis Pattern. Offerors may submit alternative manufacturers and part numbers for consideration, but must provide materials specifications and descriptive literature for any products not on the City's Qualified Products List; failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Delivery is required to Austin Energy-Cameron Warehouse at 14910 Cameron Road, Pflugerville, Texas. All pricing must be FOB Destination with freight charges included. The City is exempt from federal excise and state sales tax; respondents must not include taxes in quoted prices. The procurement operates on an as-needed basis with no predetermined contract term or guaranteed purchase volume. Award will be made to the lowest offer meeting minimum qualifications. Quotes must be submitted via email to Bailie Shotwell at Bailie.Shotwell@AustinTexas.gov and include certification of non-debarment status, wage theft compliance, and non-discrimination policies. All offers are subject to public disclosure under Texas Government Code Chapter 552 except portions marked proprietary.
