About this opportunity
Charlotte Water, a division of the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, is soliciting bids for materials, fabrication, and installation of three elevated access platforms at the McAlpine Creek Wastewater Management Facility's Residuals Management Facility, with bids due October 13, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. EST and public bid opening on October 14, 2026.
The scope requires design and installation of platforms to access recently installed centrifuges at the McAlpine Residuals Management Facility, with all work governed by construction drawings provided as Exhibit A. Structural design must utilize aluminum alloy 6061-T6. All materials must comply with ASTM standards, North Carolina building codes (NCBC 2018/IBC 2015), and ACI 318. A critical specification requirement mandates the Hilti Hit RE 500 V3 (ICC ESR-3814) adhesive anchor system with no acceptable substitutes — alternative manufacturers will not be considered.
Bids must be submitted electronically through the City's eProcurement Portal as a lump-sum price inclusive of all materials, labor, shipping, delivery, discounts, submittals, equipment costs, and temporary storage during fabrication and installation, with no additional charges permitted. All work must be completed and delivered to the site at 12701 Lancaster Highway, Pineville, North Carolina within sixteen weeks from contract execution. Contract award is anticipated by October 25, 2026, with an effective date of November 15, 2026.
The successful bidder must provide manufacturer warranties of minimum one year covering defects in materials and workmanship, dedicate a full-time account executive for customer service, and provide a third-party special inspector for post-installed anchor certification. The City reserves the right to award to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based on vendor qualifications, experience, quality, delivery, and workmanship, and retains discretion to reject any or all bids or award partial quantities. No pre-bid meeting will be held.
