About this opportunity
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is requesting quotes for the purchase, delivery, and installation of three aluminum frame dock/platform units (6 feet × 10 feet) at the CARE Fishing Education Center in Killingworth, with bids due August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EDT. This is the second attempt for vendor selection.
Each dock unit requires a marine-grade aluminum frame supported by galvanized 1.5-inch Schedule 40 pipe legs anchored into the lakebed with bracing. Aluminum railings with height adjustability via set screws are required on the two 6-foot sides and the 10-foot water-facing side. The platforms will be positioned with approximately 12 to 18 inches on the shoreline and the remainder extending into water. Installation must secure all dock/platform units level and plumb to supports, with railings and hardware installed per manufacturer specifications. Decking and ramp components are not included in this quote; DEEP will provide those separately.
Delivery is required to 364 Route 80, Killingworth, Connecticut, on a date and time to be coordinated with DEEP staff. The material delivery date is to be determined. Pricing must be submitted on an F.O.B. Destination basis with Net 30 Days payment terms. All bids must be submitted electronically through CTSOURCE and comply with Connecticut's Standard Bid Terms and Conditions. Bidders must be registered with CTSOURCE prior to submission and must exclude federal excise taxes and Connecticut sales tax from pricing. Late bids will not be accepted.
All vendors are eligible to respond. Contact Justin Wiggins or Mike Beauchene at the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, 860-663-1656, or Chanel Macklin, Associate Accountant, at CHANEL.MACKLIN@CT.GOV or 860-424-3317 for inquiries. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part.
