About this opportunity

Boston Public Schools is soliciting one or more vendors to fulfill supplemental book requests for eight district schools and departments, with proposals due October 2, 2026 at 12:00 PM through the City of Boston Supplier Portal.

The scope encompasses book fulfillment for Dearborn STEM Academy, Josiah Quincy Upper School, Office of Technology, Sarah Greenwood K-8, Teaching and Learning, Office of Health and Wellness, Dr. Albert D. Holland High School of Technology, and Umma School. BPS will provide specific titles, ISBNs, and quantities in an accompanying Excel spreadsheet. All books must be new condition with no visible wear, damage, or markings; in stock and available for immediate order; with backorder items clearly noted. Vendors may bid on individual schools or departments or submit bids for all line items. Single complete shipments per school or department are required, with delivery occurring as soon as possible upon receipt of a valid executed Purchase Order. Grant requirements mandate receipt of all books no later than June 15, 2026, though the RFP states delivery by October 7, 2026.

Vendors must submit completed pricing spreadsheets broken down by school and department, with per-book costs inclusive of all shipping and handling charges in U.S. dollars only. Delivery is to BPS Administrative Offices at the Bolling Municipal Building, 2300 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02119.

Award will be based on the vendor's ability to supply the highest number of requested titles, provide the lowest overall pricing per department or school, and demonstrate compliance with condition, delivery, and availability requirements. Multiple vendors will be considered.

Bidders must certify they are not debarred or suspended by federal or state government, comply with CORI policies consistent with City of Boston standards, maintain appropriate business licenses in Massachusetts, and comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding human trafficking and forced labor. Contract terms incorporate the City of Boston Standard Contract General Conditions, including prevailing wage requirements where applicable, and record-keeping requirements extending seven years beyond final payment.
