About this opportunity
The County of San Diego Department of Purchasing and Contracting is requesting quotes for as-needed Tuff Sheds and optional assembly services for San Diego County Fire, with quotes due August 24, 2026 and questions due August 3.
The scope covers two size options (24' × 30' or 18' × 24') available in three model series (Sundance Series, Premier Ranch, or Premier Pro Ranch), each with insulated overhead garage doors, residential entry doors, fire-rated vents and windows, dimensional premium shingle roofing, house wrap exterior siding, and color selections (white, gray, or brown). The contractor must provide stamped, site-specific engineered plans for permitting. Delivery is FOB destination within 60 calendar days of quote approval to Palomar Mountain (21610 Crestline Road) and multiple SDCF fire stations throughout San Diego County, with potential additional locations as identified by the Contracting Officer's Representative. Optional services include full-service assembly within 30 calendar days of agreed start date and full-service paint application; assembly pricing must be all-inclusive of travel costs (hotel, meals, and mileage).
Pricing is fixed per shed model and service component, with separate line items for materials only, assembly services, engineering services, and full paint application for each model size and series. Sales tax invoices separately.
The contractor must be an authorized Tuff Shed provider and maintain a valid California State B (General Building Contractor) license and current Department of Industrial Relations registration throughout the contract term. This is a designated public work under California Labor Code Section 1720 et seq.; prevailing wage requirements apply. The contractor must obtain and maintain comprehensive general liability insurance ($2 million per occurrence), automobile liability ($1 million), and workers' compensation coverage with the County named as additional insured.
The initial contract term runs from award through June 30, 2027, with one automatic one-year option period through June 30, 2028 and additional incremental options of up to six months. The County reserves the right to award to multiple vendors, terminate for convenience, or procure similar goods or services separately.
