About this opportunity
The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified contractors for As-Needed Aquatic Weed and Algae Growth Control Services across multiple lake facilities. The procurement aims to develop a Master Agreement that consolidates all aquatic growth control services under a single contract. Minimum contractor qualifications include possessing a valid California Pest Control Business License, an Agricultural Pest Control Advisor License (Category E), a Qualified Applicator's License (Category F), and a minimum of three years of experience providing aquatic weed and algae growth control services within the past five years. A Contractor's Conference was scheduled for October 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at The Arboretum of Los Angeles County in Arcadia, California, with attendance strongly recommended but not mandatory. Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) were due by 12:00 noon on October 16, 2018, at the Department of Parks and Recreation Contracts Division in Alhambra, California. Contractors were encouraged to submit questions prior to or during the conference, with the understanding that follow-up inquiries might not be addressed after the event.
The solicitation did not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. No incumbent vendors or current contractors were explicitly mentioned in the documentation. The RFSQ did not provide details about specific award values or comprehensive budget ranges for the aquatic growth control services. Interested contractors were directed to download the full Request for Statements of Qualifications (RFSQ) from the County's website and were informed that SOQs received after the initial submission deadline would be evaluated after the initial Master Agreements had been executed. A contact list for scheduling site visits was to be provided at the contractor's conference, which would allow potential bidders to further assess the specific requirements and conditions of the lake facilities requiring aquatic growth control services.
