About this opportunity
The City of Bristol is requesting proposals for renovation of the Dennis Malone Aquatics Center scoreboard and timing system, with proposals due September 3, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. through the BidNet Direct portal. Site walk appointment requests closed August 26, 2026. The critical constraint is a two-business-day completion window for demolition, installation, and commissioning of all new equipment following a mandatory two-week mobilization period from purchase order issuance.
The scope covers complete removal and disposal of existing equipment and installation of Colorado Time Systems (CTS) equipment, including six LED 8-digit scoreboards, one LED Home/Guest display, one LED Event/Heat display, a Gen7 timing system with modular timer and interface computer, seven competition-grade touchpads with mounting brackets, an eight-lane primary deck cable system with push buttons, and an integrated start system with flag pole mount and associated cabling. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, and incidentals; perform testing and commissioning; and provide one full day of on-site staff training, with an optional second training session within one year at the City's discretion. Additional programming and calibration must be completed within two working days total.
Bids must be submitted by line item across six categories—scoreboard equipment, timing system components, touchpads and mounting, on-deck cable systems, start system components, and labor and services—with unit or lump sum pricing. No partial payments are made; full payment follows completion of all work and issuance of a Certificate of Approval from the City Building Department. The contractor must provide one-year warranty on labor and materials and manufacturer warranties of not less than two years. Insurance requirements include $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate general liability, $1,000,000 automobile liability, Owners & Contractors Protective Insurance with no City deductible, and Connecticut-required workers' compensation. Liquidated damages of $200 per calendar day apply if work schedule deadlines are missed, commencing on the third day. Connecticut sales and use taxes do not apply. Award will be made to the lowest responsible qualified bidder under Connecticut General Statutes 4a-59, with consideration given to ability to meet mandatory schedule requirements.
