About this opportunity

The Alabama Department of Corrections is soliciting an annual agreement for UniMac laundry equipment sales and service covering the South Territory, with proposals due September 24, 2026 and pricing firm for October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027. The supplier must be an authorized distributor of UniMac and Alliance Corporation products, with authorization documentation required at bid submission or the bid will be rejected.

The scope covers UniMac laundry equipment sales, parts supply, installation, preventive maintenance, repair services, and technical support for correctional facilities across the South Territory on an as-needed basis. Orders will be placed via purchase order with no predetermined quantities. All equipment must be new, unused, first-class in quality, and delivered within thirty days of purchase-order receipt. Installation is not a separate charge and must be included in equipment pricing, performed by a local Alliance Laundry Systems distributor to factory specifications with standard services (delivery, set-in-place, bolting, leveling, grouting) and removal and disposal of old machines if required. Equipment carries a warranty covering three years on all parts and five years on the frame, basket, shaft, bearings, and seals, with coverage including all parts, labor, and freight for repairs and replacements.

Bidders must enter zero pricing for three lines to be quoted after award and excluded from evaluation, while providing unit prices for two evaluated lines. Award will be made on an all-or-none basis to the lowest acceptable bidder. All quotes must include item descriptions with current manufacturer's suggested retail prices and discounted prices; additional volume discounts for large purchases may be offered. The supplier bears liability for risk, loss, or damage to merchandise up to the destination. Deliveries are not accepted on weekends or state holidays; deliveries arriving at inappropriate times may be delayed or refused at the warden's discretion, with re-delivery costs borne by the supplier. All persons entering ADOC facilities must comply with security requirements.
