About this opportunity

Dane County Department of Human Services, through its Adult Protective Services Unit, is requesting proposals for community-based accident prevention coordination and awareness services with a proposal deadline of August 1, 2026 and a questions deadline of July 8, 2026. A local-vendor preference applies: Dane County-based vendors receive five additional evaluation points, and vendors from adjacent counties (Columbia, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock, or Sauk) receive two additional points.

The scope encompasses coordinating community-based accident prevention activities across four focus areas — older adult falls prevention, traffic safety, suicide prevention, and drug harm reduction — with emphasis on cross-sector collaboration, public awareness, and prevention-strategy advancement. The unit of service is one hour of staff time spent on program activities. Administrative costs are capped at 15% of the program cost proposal.

The current annual contract funding level is $6,419, though this amount does not guarantee future contract amounts. The contract runs for one year from execution with an option for four additional one-year renewal periods by mutual agreement. The incumbent is Safe Communities.

Contractors must be registered entities in good standing with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions at contract execution. Pricing is scored on lowest-cost basis, with the lowest proposal receiving maximum points and higher-cost proposals receiving proportionate points. The anticipated award notification is expected in late August 2026. Responses must be submitted electronically through the Dane County eProcurement Portal. Payment terms will be negotiated post-award, with the County paying properly submitted invoices within 30 days of receipt of goods and services.
