About this opportunity

The City of Joliet, Illinois is requesting proposals for access control and surveillance system installation at Fire Stations 6, 8, and 10 under Contract 2992-0926, with sealed bids due October 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. through the Euna Procurement (Bonfire) portal. All work must be performed by a single Genetec-certified firm — a mandatory capability filter that restricts the bidder pool to vendors holding current Genetec certification.

The scope spans three fire stations with distinct requirements: Fire Station 6 (2049 Oneida Street) requires access control for four standard doors and three overhead doors plus three external 360-degree cameras; Fire Station 8 (2293 Essington Road) requires access control for five standard doors and four overhead doors plus three 360-degree cameras; and Fire Station 10 (1599 John D Paige Drive) requires access control for eight standard doors and four overhead doors plus three 360-degree cameras. The RFP specifies detailed equipment including Altronix Trove2M2 enclosures, Mercury MP1502 Genetec cards, Mercury MR52-S3 reader interface panels, Altronix power supplies, Bosch motion sensors, GRI door sensors, HID SIGNO card readers, and Windy City Wire SmartWire OSDP cables. The City's IT group will handle all programming, access rule configuration, and camera integration into the existing Genetec security system following installation.

The awardee must commence work within 10 calendar days of written Notice to Proceed. General liability and workers' compensation insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence is required, with the City listed as an additional insured. Payment follows the Local Government Prompt Payment Act (50 ILCS 505/), requiring City approval or disapproval within 30 days of invoice receipt and payment within 30 days of approval.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site walkthrough is scheduled for October 5, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Fire Station 10. All vendors must self-register in Bonfire, accept terms and conditions, and opt in to notifications to participate.
