About this opportunity
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) Surplus Property Division is requesting quotes for fire sprinkler system inspection and maintenance services under Quick Quote solicitation 706007-SPD, with responses due September 24, 2026, for a service period of October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027.
Vendors must be licensed to inspect and repair sprinkler systems and located within 60 miles of ADECA's Montgomery warehouse. Mandatory response times are 24 hours for regular work requests and 2 hours for emergencies.
The scope covers annual and quarterly inspections on eight dry valves (Viking Models VXR and F1, Reliable Model FX, Central Model F, equipped with Viking D-2 or Reliable B1 accelerators) and one wet Grinnell system; annual trip tests on dry systems; and annual testing on approximately 1,795 sprinkler heads, one pull station, and one smoke detector. Vendors must submit quarterly quotes for inspection services and hourly rates for repair work, with trip charges incorporated into quoted rates rather than billed separately. Parts and materials must be quoted as a percentage discount off standard pricing. All work requires prior approval from an ADECA Surplus Representative or ADECA Purchasing Representative before execution, and invoices must itemize hourly rates and parts costs separately.
The not-to-exceed total contract cost is $25,000 for the initial term and any annual renewals combined, with a maximum total contract period of five years. Price escalation requests may be considered if proposed increases do not exceed the industry-specific or Consumer Price Index increase during the same period and do not exceed 5 percent of annual contract cost. Suppliers must register in Alabama Buys, comply with Alabama sales tax requirements, and verify E-Verify enrollment if employing workers within the state. The State reserves the right to conduct cost realism and price reasonableness analysis and to cancel contracts for convenience with practicable notice or for nonperformance.
