About this opportunity

The City of Wilton Manors, Florida is requesting bids on lighting improvements at Mickel Park under two separate base bids funded through the 51st Year CDBG program, with responses due October 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EDT. A pre-bid site visit is highly recommended for Base Bid B prospective bidders.

Base Bid A comprises a walkway lighting retrofit: safe removal and off-site disposal of twenty existing decorative lighting arms and pendant fixtures from fluted poles; inspection and preparation of pole tenons to accept new adjustable slip-fitter mounts; furnishing and installation of twenty new LED area light fixtures onto existing poles; splicing and connection to existing circuitry in compliance with Florida Building Code and National Electrical Code; and commissioning including fixture aiming, motion/photocell sensor configuration via mobile application, and operational testing.

Base Bid B is a turnkey security lighting installation at four locations within the park (Entertainment Pavilion, Splash Pad Pavilion, Concession Pavilion, and the northeast corner of the Maintenance Storage Shed). The scope includes furnishing and installation of commercial-grade, motion-activated LED security lighting with all necessary electrical components—conduit, junction boxes, wiring, and breakers—to tap into the nearest acceptable power source and route power to fixture locations in accordance with NEC and Florida Building Code. Bidders are solely responsible for evaluating existing electrical infrastructure, verifying line voltages, and determining conduit routing and power availability at all required installation locations.

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EST. A bid bond is required for submission. The bid package includes specifications, federal grant boilerplate guidance, and general construction conditions distributed through DemandStar.
