About this opportunity
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is requesting bids on abatement work, surface preparation, and painting system application to three Long Island Rail Road bridges—135-North Bridge, Wantagh Bridge, and 135-South Bridge—under an IFB with bids due September 15, 2026 and a pre-bid conference on August 5. This is an A + B Bidding Contract with a 530-calendar-day completion term.
The Enhanced Utilization Credit Initiative (EUCI) applies. Bidders may claim an additional 50% credit toward the utilization of EUCI-eligible MWBE firms, creating a material incentive to engage such subcontractors. EUCI-eligible firm lists are available at https://esd.ny.gov/certification-plus-vendors, and detailed program rules appear in Article 18.17 of the General Provisions clause and Paragraph 17 of the Information for Bidders.
To bid, vendors must be registered with the federal System for Award Management (SAM) and hold an active MTA Bidder/Supplier Number. Bid documents are available at no cost from the MTA's construction and development contracting website (https://new.mta.info/agency/construction-and-development/contracting/current-opportunities). A site tour is scheduled for August 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Parking Field S-5W, 1922 Seamans Nick Road, Seaford, New York 11783; registration is required through Jedidah Theodore at jedidah.theodore@mtacd.org. No estimated contract value is disclosed in the solicitation.
