About this opportunity

The City of Chicago Department of Transportation is requesting sealed bids for Auburn Gresham Corridor Improvements Section 1, a construction project covering improvements to 79th Street from Sangamon Street to Fielding Avenue and Halsted Street from 78th Street to 80th Street, with bids due September 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Central Time through the City's iSupplier portal. This is a competitive sealed-bid solicitation restricted to invited suppliers only.

The scope comprises 30 line items across traffic signal equipment, pedestrian signal heads, street lighting removal, concrete work, decorative street furniture, and associated installation and removal services. Specific quantities include 6 LED signal heads (3-section, bracket mounted), 11 LED signal heads (3-section, mast arm mounted), 6 pedestrian signal heads with countdown timers, 32 bicycle racks, 17 litter receptacles, 11 benches, 24 sidewalk medallions, and 20,830 square feet of pavers on slab. Bidders must respond to all line items with full quantities. Addendum 1, issued August 27, 2026, clarified asphalt binder course specifications for pay items 35 and 37; bidders must acknowledge receipt of all addenda in their proposals.

A 5% bid deposit is required, with the first and second apparent low bidders required to deliver original executed bid deposits within two business days of bid opening. Pricing must reflect appropriate allocation of costs, overhead, and profit across all line items; bids deemed materially unbalanced will be rejected.

The pre-solicitation conference is scheduled for August 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time at 2 North LaSalle, Chicago. Questions are due August 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time. All bid documents, including Books 1–3 and project drawings, must be downloaded from the City's eProcurement website. Contact Procurement Specialist Sadi Sandoval at sadi.sandoval@cityofchicago.org or 312-744-0728.
