Update #1 ·
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for wireless vibration sensors, including their calibration and instruction. The compliant product is available solely from Yokogawa Corporation of America, as the required materials are only available through Yokogawa. The NAICS code is 334515 and the business size is 750 employees.
The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Yokogawa. The proposed action is for wireless vibration sensors, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: Yokogawa is the only source of the required equipment, with no compatible item on the market. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Yokogawa Corporation of America using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 11:59AM 25 May 2021. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 11:59AM on 05/25/2021 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
Inquiries should be directed to both Michael Bonaiuto at michael.bonaiuto@navy.mil and Barbaraann Witz and barbaraann.witz@navy.mil.
